Good Night & Good Luck
Dear Friends:
In the last six years, I have had the pleasure to share so many evening with many amazing people: sharing the stage with talented callers and musicians, sharing the night with energetic dancers. Together, we have shared so many experiences, we have told so many of our stories, we have made so many memories along the way, and I have been in love with every moment. Some of the memories I will keep close to my heart with be: sharing the stage with Nor’easter: Cedar Stanistreet, Max Newman, and Julie Vallimont, at the Brattleboro Dawn Dance, Labor Day 2010 ~ I can hear the roar of the crowd; being on tour with Perpetual e-Motion: Ed Howe and John Cote, driving from dance to dance in the Volvo; and of course the Nelson Contra Dance with the stories of Bob McQuillen.
As the Greek Philosopher, Heraclitus, said “The only constant in life is change,” I am no exception. With new projects on the horizon, my time has become more and more limited, so something has to give, in this case it’s being a Dance Caller. As of October 15, 2011, six years later, I will be setting down the microphone and retiring from the stage. I feel reassured with the many new callers and musicians with so much talent carrying on the tradition. You are in good hands. There are so many people who have touched my life, that I would like to thank (unfortunately, I’m going to miss a lot of you): Dave Eisenstadter, thank you for bring me to my first contra dance and all our contra dance adventures; Jessie Gagne-Hall, thank you for your friendship and always calming words; Lisa Sieverts, my friend, my mentor, thank you. Thank you everyone for your support. It has been my honor and my pleasure to share the evenings with you. Till we see each other again..
Good Night & Good Luck
